The Community Chorus is an associate member of the Foothills Arts Council. Each year its program of Christmas choral music is made possible by the support of the Council and the offerings taken at each concert.

The two Community Chorus Christmas concerts are presented each year on the second Sunday of Advent at 4pm and 7pm with the location alternating between First Baptist Church of Elkin and the First United Methodist Church of Elkin. There is no cost for admission.

Participation in the chorus is open to the public. No auditions are required. Seven rehearsals are held each year on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 pm, beginning in October. Singers must attend one of the first two rehearsals and a total of five of the seven rehearsals to sing in the concerts.
