Morrison Memorial Juried Art Show

September 25 – October 22, 2008

 Save the date for our annual Morrison Memorial Juried Art Show, opening Friday, September 26th. This show is named in honor of the late artist, Clifford Morrison. His efforts, along with      his wife, Gladys, ensured the success of past shows. Cliff's love for the arts and the people in     our community make the Juried Art Show a fitting endeavor to bear his name. Entries will be accepted at the Foothills Arts Council on September 23rd & 24th. Cash prizes will be        awarded for First, Second, and Third Place in both 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional artworks.

PROSPECTUS

Eligibility: This competition is open to professional and amateur artists 18 years and  older. Works must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously shown in this competition. Works of art can fall in the categories of painting, drawing, graphics, multimedia, pottery and sculpture. Selection is at the discretion of the jurors. Photography is not eligible. Please submit photography to our IMAGES show in May.

Specifications: Work must be no larger than 60” x 60”. All entries must be ready             for hanging or display. Identification labels must be securely attached to the work. Your       of art will remain on display in the Foothills Arts Council Gallery through October 22nd      and exhibited for sale if indicated on the label. A 20% commission on each sale will     benefit the arts council.

Entry fee:There will be an entry fee of $10.00 per entry, checks payable to Foothills Arts Council.

Liability Agreement: All reasonable care will be given all entries, but no responsibility is assumed by any person concerned with this exhibition for loss or damage to any work submitted. Artist’s entry into this exhibition constitutes acceptance of these conditions. _________initial here.

Delivery & Pickup: All works should be delivered to Foothills Arts Council, 129       Church St., Elkin on Tuesday, September 23rd or Wednesday, September 24th        between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Work should be picked up October 22nd & 23rd between 10 and 4.
