Yadkin Valley Fiber Center moves to Elkin!

We proudly announce our newest associate member the Yadkin Valley Fiber Center! With a full workshop schedule beginning in May the Center will bring enthusiasts and top-notch fiber instructors to the Foothills Arts Council from all across the country. We look forward to working with YVFC founder Leslie Fesperman and share in her excitement for all the program will bring to our community. We can't possibly thank the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center enough for their support in the programs move to Elkin and for their vital role in the programs incubation and development

Summer Art Camp w/ Jan Gilliam

July 16-19

Rising 1st & 2nd graders 9-11 am

Rising 3rd through 5th graders 1-3 pm

Rising sixth graders and up 4-6 pm

Summer Drama Camp & Kidshop Theatre presents Fe Fi Fo Fum

Camp: June 11-29 Monday-Friday 9 am until noon. Foothills Arts Council 129 Church St. Elkin.

Performances: June 29 & 30 at the Elkin High School Dixon Auditorium

Tuition: $150 (Camp limited to 25 kids)

After School Sewing with LeeAnn Mantero

Wednesdays 3-5 pm

Music Lessons



Teacher Keary Reid
• Wednesday afternoon
• $80 per month (plus books) • beginners welcome, all levels
• Ages 5 and up

About Keary: Keary has been playing piano since age 7. He took private lessons locally from age 7-18, then studied music/piano at WCC and Appalachian State University from 1997-2001. He holds a major in music industry studies from App State. 

Keary is on break for the summer, but will accept new students in the Fall of 2017!


Beginner Guitar

• Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
• $15/30 minutes
• beginners welcome, all levels
• age 7 and up
• must have guitar

About Cory: Cory plays several instruments, has played in several bands locally, and recently released his own album, “As the Crow Flies.”
